Arts and crafts describes a wide variety of activities involving making things with one's own hands. Arts and crafts is usually a hobby. Some crafts (art skills) have been practised for centuries, others are more recent inventions. 

Both children and adults enjoy arts and crafts. Children in schools may learn skills such as woodworking, wood carving, sewing, or making things with all sorts of materials. Many community centres and schools have evening or day classes and workshops where one can learn arts and craft skills 

Although "crafts" today are usually hobbies enjoyed by amateurs, the word was used many centuries ago by professional people who had a guild system. Young people were learned from a master-craftsman (i.e. they were "apprenticed"), and they often took many years to learn their skills to perfection.

Ciara  Phelan is a textile designers and freelance illustrator from London create a most beautiful fashion illustrations with vegetables, fruits and flowers themed collage style fashion works.One piece in particular which stands out  is an ongoing personal project which mixes fashion illustration with Ciara’s love of Greek mythology. 

Combining collage with textures and vector shapes she has created three stunning images from Greek myth: Demeter, the goddess of the harvest; Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation; and Persephone, the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. It's a really  beautiful images.

There are so many ways to turn sand into art. You can build sand castles by using a bucket, shovel and water. A professional artist creates beautiful art, with carve sand beach.One of them as did Jamie Harkins, talented artist and musician artist from New Zealand, took place on the beach Maunganui, he draw a 3-dimensional art remarkable. 

Harkins has been keeping busy creating fun optical illusions and 3D images on beaches that keep passers-by bewildered and delighted. Harkins employs the same trick of perspective that sidewalk chalk artist employ when they fool us into thinking that their 2D illustrations are actually 3D. It’s called anamorphosis, and it requires that the viewer observe the art from a certain perspective for its illusion to work.
